Where’s your financial checklist?

It’s good practice to keep track of your personal information along with your financial data.  Check monthly statements and review transactions online often.  Do you keep your email address, home address, and phone numbers current at the credit union?  You should!  It’s easy in It’s Me 247.  Log in and click on Preferences, then My Personal Information.

Nicknames for Your Accounts

Do you have accounts you use for special reasons?  Maybe a savings account to stash money for a new computer, or a certificate to hold funds for next year’s tuition, or a special checking account you use to keep track of day care or medical expenses.  Ask us about assigning a nickname to your accounts to help keep things organized.  Log in and click the Nicknames button, or contact the credit union for assistance.

Been getting all the mail you’re expecting?

If you have a lot of credit card accounts, make a list and watch each month to make sure your statements actually arrive. If a scammer pretends to be you and changes the address on one of your accounts, they could use your account without your knowledge and seriously damage your credit rating!  (Also consider signing up for e-statements instead wherever you can!)
